Good Morning

Its 6:00 a.m. and time to get out of bed and tackle your day. Your favorite jazz playlist comes on the house speakers overhead your bed, in the hallways, kitchen, and bathroom. The volume slowly rises louder to help you wake up. At the same time all of the house shades rise to let the sunlight in and help you make your way to the kitchen for a morning cup of joe. The lighting levels rise to create a cozy ambient glow. Once you get to the coffee pot, you access the touch screen mounted on the wall next to the fridge to activate the intercom system and talk to your kids. You press a button and announce to the bedrooms upstairs “time to wake up for school!”After quickly getting dressed and ready for work, you check in on the kids again by accessing the surveillance cameras. You look at the video footage and see the boys are putting their shoes on. Just before you walk out the door, you press“Away”on the touch panel by the front door.

Away

After activating the away“scene,” all the lights, TVs, and speakers turn off, the privacy solar shades come down, the security system arms, and the thermostat drops 5 degrees (since it’s super cold outside and you want to save on heating costs). You walk into the garage, get in the car and press the“open garage”button on your smartphone. You drive away knowing that your home is safe, secure, and saving energy throughout the day while youre at work and the kids are at school. When you get home later, opening the garage door triggers the alarm system to disarm, the door to unlock, and the kitchen lights to illuminate a path for you.

Movie Time

Its Friday night and you want to spend a relaxing evening in with the family. You go over to the dedicated home theater in your basement and press the button “movie time”using the Control4 app on your iPad. Instantly, the lights dim down, the TV turns on, the thermostat raises to a cozy 74 degrees, and now all you have to do is pick a flick. You decide to watch the first Star Wars movie, “A New Hope”. With HD video and Dolby Atmos surround sound, you are suddenly transported into a galaxy far away. Crystal clear picture with no pixilation, lifelike sound that immerses you in the scene, and vivid colors make you feel like youve just entered into an exciting adventure.

Goodnight

Youve just finished the movie and now you are super tired and ready for bed.  Pressing the “Goodnight”button using your Control4 smart home automation system triggers your entire home into sleep mode. The lights turn off, (except for one porch light), and the doors lock. Later on in the middle of the night, you wake up thirsty. As you walk downstairs to the kitchen, occupancy sensors turn on lights to brighten your way so you dont trip and fall. As you make your way back to bed, the lights shut off as soon as they sense you arent there anymore.
